We were hired to create the entire motion graphic pack for Construct Zero, Inc's new monthly episodic video series, "Million Dollar Business Models". We developed a static and variable introduction from scratch, as well as custom lower thirds and a closer. We also handle all the video/audio editing for the episode, and hopefully, future episodes to come.
On October 3rd we went out to work to film the wedding of Karin and Brent Stottman at the Ritz Carlton Orlando. We got the ceremony and reception on tape, and produced several edited DVD copies for the newlyweds. The wedding went wonderfully, and we hope our wedding video went even better!
For the 5th year in a row SIP has provided top-notch videography services for the Osceola County School for the Arts as they auditioned to perform in Disney's Annual 'Candlelight Processional'. This year we filmed and editing in 1080i HD and provided a high quality video and audio DVD that is sure to knock the judges off their feet and get the vocal department a spot in the show.
The first set of hopefully a long list of Brad Semp videos. We are responsible for editing and producing a series of web videos for Brad Semp, featuring the new bumper that we designed. As we finish each video we export it to several different web formats, such as .wmv, .flv, and .mov with settings that are optimal for 'Traffic Geyser' distribution. Each video features different editing challenges, such as motion tracked thought bubbles over Brad's head to explain his shaky camera hand.
Shantee Lemon recently got married on July 25th, 2009. We were responsible for catching this precious memory on tape, and providing a high-quality DVD of their wedding event that they can look back on in the future. We filmed the ceremony at the beautiful 'Cranes Roost Park', in Altamonte Springs, Florida, followed by the reception just down the road. In all, the wedding went wonderfully, and hopefully the DVD can top it!
I guess word of mouth actually works!?! Following the end of Brad Semp's bumper design, the word of our production services spread to his brother, Derek Semp. We were responsible to design the opening bumper of 'Webhosting Explained.com', and add the bumper to 131 videos, followed by a post-conversion to a suitable format. In all, although the pipeline was a little tricky, we created a custom-way to bring his vision to life.
We fully designed the opening and closing bumpers for the BWS.com website videos. We worked in both 2D and 3D motion graphics to come up with the designs that would one day be the branding of the BWS videos. The production of the 15 second long bumper videos also included the need for a full 1080i HD greenscreen shoot, which we were responsible for producing.
We filmed Constance d'Angelis delivering a 30 minute long speech on-location at the Anderson-Price Memorial Building in Ormond Beach, FL. It was then our job to edit the content to a DVD with a motion graphic/custom soundtrack introduction, and lower-third animations.
A parody action movie trailer featuring high-end visual effects work and a heart-racing soundtrack! This project was released in May 2009, and has got many laughs from people who actually thought it was a trailer for a real production. It was created as the second of two parody trailers, the first being 'Rainbow Puppies in a Field of Fuzzy Flowers', found further down this list.
We created the video segments for iGrad 09, OCSA's senior student showcase. Each video segment was customized as a title for the upcoming act. We also stage-managed the production and worked to design, program and operate the 2000-seat theatre's lighting system.
We created the entire motion graphic title sequence to the 2008-2009 technical theatre graduation at OCSA. It involved a fast-paced photo flip-book effect with 3D titles and other motion graphic elements. We were also responsible for running the show as a suprise for the technical director.
We were responsible for designing and constructing the set for OCSA's production of "The Show", a behind-the-scenes look into technical theatre. We also worked to produce both the motion graphic countdown at the beginning of the show, and video segments throughout. To finish it off we stagemanaged the production, which had a one-night-only performance and was rather a big hit.
We created a motion-graphics typography sequence for the OSCA 2008-2009 "End of Year Video". It followed the lyrics of a popular musical piece, with dynamically animated text and camera moves, and a nostalgic picture slideshow in-between.
The last OCSA yearbook commercial we'll ever make. This commercial was a general call-to-action to purchase the last few remaining yearbooks, featuring a 'subliminal messaging' announcement with a catchy music bed and hypnotic graphic design. This was yet another yearbook video with an overnight deadline.
We created the video preview that released OCSA's 2008-2009 Yearbook cover. The cover was kept a secret the entire year to build suspense, and we were responsible for making sure we gave the large product release it deserved at the end of the year. On top of this we also, rather co-incidently, designed the 2008-2009 yearbook cover.
The 7th installment of our yearbook commercial series, featuring photos of OCSA students inside of a general mugshot outline. We worked literally overnight to produce a spot featuring motion graphics, sound design, and advanced particle simulation. The message of the commercial was to purchase advertising space in the yearbook, and have your own content in the product, making you "more than just a mugshot".
For this yearbook commercial we simply had to create a 2D title sequence explaining the steps to purchasing a recognition advertisement in the 2008-2009 OCSA yearbook. This was the sole video for the product, and it worked well to explain the ins and outs of ad placement as an informational video, rather than a promotion.
We created the video that advertised special events at a local cicis pizza franchise that helped to sponsor the 2008-2008 OCSA Yearbook. The video is a short commercial explaining how purchasing pizza can help OCSA's yearbook, with simple 2D typography and a retro-style background.
We were responsible for creating a yearbook commercial that followed the theme of 'getting out of the norm', which featured a 13-second long advanced visual effects shot as the main character interacts with multiple copies of himself. In all, we rotoscoped and used advanced custom-keying techniques to blend 10 individual shots of the actor into one consistent shot. We were also responsible for all the motion graphics and editing for the rest of the commercial.
This was by far the most complex yearbook commercial we ever made. It featured a full commercial of 3D typography that follows the script of a voiceover performer, and dynamically animates onscreen. The camera also works it way around the scene, following the text in crazy ways as it flies in. And to top it off, the text all comes together at the end to form the shape of the yearbook, which then transitions into an actual yearbook spread.
This was the first yearbook commercial to contain a majority of live-action content. Most of the yearbook commercials featured mainly motion graphics and typography, where as this one featured a full HD shoot to tell the story of students purchasing an advertisement in the yearbook in order to suprise their teacher.
We were responsible for starting the two-year yearbook advertising campaign with this commercial. It featured an announcer explaining the yearbook, with graphics dynamically animated onscreen in front of him. He could interact with the objects and ended up throwing them all over the place in an attempt to explain how to purchase a yearbook. This commercial sparked the series of 9 commercial that we made, and was inspired by the old mastercard commercials.
An Extreme Chase was a short black and white HD movie produced by Small Island Productions. It followed the story of an extremely over-complicated chase in order to return someone's lost wallet. The entire movie was planned, filmed and edited in a single day, literally just for a little fun one boring afternoon.
'Afterlife' was a short joint-production between Small Island Productions and Jared Gerbig's 'Chaos Theory Films'. The movie was filmed and edited in HD, with very advanced compositing and visual special effects, some very nice locations, and a very intelligent story plot. We also had to create the motion graphics for the movie, including the 'Chaos Theory Films' logo. Ironically, this was the first movie to feature their new logo, and the last movie to feature our old logo.
We created the video preview that advertised a Central Florida Halloween event, the 'trail of doom'. We were responsible for creating an apparent news report that investigated the deaths in the area, only to end in tragedy itself. Not only did we film the commercial, we also created pseudo-news graphics and added a slight horror-style color correction to the whole piece.
"Hide and Squeak" was SIP's first stop-motion animation short movie. We created a movie that took two days of shooting with a stop-motion rig, and followed the story of 'mice' in a theatre. Of course, we had a little fun and used computer mice instead of the real thing.
"Brainstorm" was an SIP and 'Chaos Theory Films' short movie that followed the process of creating a short movie. It took the viewer on a trip through working with the director in different genres, with a comedic twist on everything. The movie featured a full HD shoot, as well as several VFX shots, such as a character hit by a bus, an earthquake, and even a giant killer fish.
'Hit and Run' is a short SIP movie about a group of bank robbers who actually get robbed during a heist. It is a full action movie, with a comedic twist at the end, featuring a pounding soundtrack and some even cooler shots. The movie features roof runs, car chases, foot chases, some stunt driving, police chases, jumping in front of a train and even the protagonist clinging to the top of a speeding vehicle. In all, it was very fun to film and looks even better on the big screen.
The first of two parody trailers. This one, entitled 'Rainbow Puppies in a Field of Fuzzy Flowers', was an epic historical war-drama trailer. It followed the classic story of good versus evil in an attempt to create a believable, yet highly comedic parody movie trailer.
We created the tear-jerking photo montage sequence for the 2007-2008 OCSA End of Year Video. It featured nostalgic images and video of the graduating seniors of the class, with a motivation feel for where they are going and what they left behind. In all, it left many speechless when presented to about 700 people, and will never leave the minds of some graduating seniors.
